What you need for quiz night

Drop the worry about pointless monthly fees. For a successful quiz you basically need a computer, a screen, player phones, a reliable network and one credit for the live game. Here is a quick rundown:

  • Host computer. QuizBrothers Pro runs on Windows 10 or later (a Mac version is available too). This is your main workstation — you write quizzes on it and during the event you run the presentation from the QuizShow control room. Tip: if you use local Wi-Fi, put the host laptop on Ethernet to the router. More in Wi-Fi vs PIN.
  • Screen and sound for the audience. A projector or a large TV, plus decent speakers. The system splits the picture: the room sees a proper presentation with questions and standings, while you run the host panel on your own display. Good sound makes at least as much of an impression as a good picture.
  • Player phones. Each team answers in our official Android or iOS app. Send them the download links before the night so nobody is delayed at the door. Tip for you: as host you can join on your own phone too. If you start with the team name !Presenter, you see exactly what the players see and you have a perfect view of the quiz — without appearing in the tables or statistics.
  • Network. Keep the connection smooth — either your own local Wi-Fi (ideally named QuizBrothers) or an online PIN. How to choose: Wi-Fi vs PIN.
  • A credit for the live event. Creating and testing quizzes is completely free. Only when you go live with a full room do you activate one credit. For 24 hours it unlocks unlimited players, full access (Wi-Fi and PIN), cloud tools and statistics. Buy extra credits in the shop and activate them in My account — a ready quiz night for small change.
  • Paper and pens (from real nights). Teams answer on phones, but we have found it really helps to put classic paper and pens on the tables too. On harder questions people often need to work something out, sketch, or jot down ideas together.
  • A good mood. The base of every successful night. The tech and the app keep the quiz flowing and fair, but what people actually remember is the atmosphere you create as host.

Optional kit (the stuff that sometimes saves the night)

  • A ready-made quiz pack from the shop — for weeks when you simply cannot write your own questions.
  • A spare HDMI cable and a laptop charger.
  • A printed PIN or Wi-Fi name on the team tables.
  • And maybe something small to nibble on.
